About Me

My photo
I used to be aircraft mechanic and now I'm a homemaker. I love to garden, play with my kids, hang out with my husband, bake bread (some is good some isn't), travel, and eat.

Amelia's Doctor Appointment

Doctor appointment on Friday went well. Mia (what Bear calls her) got her 4 month shots and her basic check up. She hollered less than last time but had more of a reaction to the shots this time. I think just because she's still trying to get over the cold her and Tom have had. Her basic
stats now: Head: 17 inches Length: 25.5 inches Weight: 17 pounds 14 ounces (may as well call it 18 pounds or about 8 kg for those in the rest of the world). All looked good by the doctor. She still hasn't rolled over, but she does all the other motor skills she is supposed to. I wouldn't want to try to roll all those rolls either. She also almost sits by herself now.

Off to put kiddos to bed...

Some photos really do make it off the camera

Big smiles for Dad Like my dandelion?

Chillin' in the excersaucer

"Hi Mia." Bear loves to pet Amelia's hair.

The first sweet potatoes. She isn't sure about them.

Just a couple of notes: Amelia is now eating some solid foods once in awhile. Really likes apples and pears. Seems okay with green beans and just doesn't seem to know what to make of the sweet potatoes.

And Bear does call her Mia. I'm wondering if that is what she'll end up getting called by all of us. Who knows just yet.

Finally!

I finally have a little time. Kids are in bed and Tom is off at a graduation get together. We have had crazy schedules here lately. The same week Tom had finals I went back to work full time. Whew! Thank goodness that Tom is done. I am not really thrilled with being back to work full time, but I'm sure our bank account will be. Funny how that works.

Okay, some updates on the kids.

Bear: Still about 35 pounds, but I know he keeps getting taller. I haven't measured him lately but I sure don't have to reach very far down to get to the top of his head. We had to move him into size 9 shoes. I'm pretty sure toddler shoes only go up to size 11 then the kids shoes start over back at size 1. At least that's how I think it goes. Besides growing like a weed he is learning tons of other things and makes us laugh all the time. I discovered the other day that he apparently likes broccoli. He told me in the store that he wanted broccoli because he liked it. Well, broccoli isn't something we fix a lot so I don't know how he knows he likes it. But, I bought it and fixed it for him. Yep, he likes it. He ate loads. Especially if I add a little bit of balsamic vinegar. So far some of his favorite foods are broccoli, asparagus, tomatoes, peas, basque chicken, General Tso's chicken (Tom's recipe), hot dogs, and peanut butter and jam or honey sandwiches. Oh, and a good salami with a strong cheese. He loves to sit and eat Parmesan cheese. I like it but don't think I can sit and eat it plain.

Amelia: She weighs between 17 and 20 pounds. We should have a doctor appointment this next week to get her 4 month shots and get the well-baby check. Then we'll know for sure on weight and height. At 2 months she was over 24 inches long though and sure has grown since then. She is wearing clothes that are anything between 6-12 month sizes depending on the item. Most of her stuff is in the 9 month range right now. She is smiling, giggling, squealing, and cooing. She hasn't rolled completely over yet, but there is a lot of her to work on getting over. She kinda looks like the Michelin Man but cuter.

Bear and Amelia are adorable together. He is super protective of her and her stuff and she seems to adore him. She'll just lay and watch him while smiling the whole time. In fact they get along well enough (for now anyway) that we have her sleeping in their room now. For the first couple of months she was in with us in the cradle but Bear has started requesting that she sleep in his room in the crib. I won't argue since I wasn't sure how we were going to make that transition. Kinda nice that they made it for me.

I will end this with a promise to try to get some pictures up on here. I've been slacking big time. In fact I have several on the camera, but haven't gotten a chance to upload them to the computer. I still have lots I could catch up on but I'm trying to fall asleep here so I'd better head for bed instead of letting my head hit the keys.
