Wow things have gotten busy here. Tom and I are once again trying to re-do schedules. I'm not playing safety officer at work anymore. This means I can't bring Bear into the office because there is no office to bring him to. What it all boils down to is that we have goofier than normal schedules going on. In addition to those changes we have Bear's 9 month doctor appointment coming up next Friday, I have my Inspection Authorization test on Thursday, and then a week later we get to go to Austria! Amazingly enough things are going pretty smoothly at this point. Tom and Bear actually have doctor apointments together, Tom needed one the same day so our nice little clinic decided that they could do them at the same time. One of the joys of being in a small town. My study sessions are finally seeming to produce results. If I pass this insanely expensive test, then I get to be even more responsible in the type of work I do. Also, it means that if I ever leave work I can apply for a lot more jobs.
The best thing that seems to be falling into place is getting to go to Austria. We got Bear's passport yesterday, our flights look okay, and we are getting our stuff together. Oh, I just remembered I'd better make sure the camera battery is charged. That would be a bum deal. How exciting is this? Tom and I have never been to Europe. We aren't too sure about the incredibly long trip in between though. I'm sure Bear will do better with it than we will. He can at least stretch out to sleep. We are just hoping to be able to catch some sleep so we aren't too jet lagged. Easter in Austria. Wow, I can't believe it.

Imp
Latest photos of our impish child. He talks lots now. He doesn't seem to speak English as you and I know it, but he carries on quite the conversation. He seldom stops talking unless he's asleep. The best is when he gets to giggling. Some of the strangest things are funny. An exasperiated sigh is one that almost always sets him off. Especially if you roll your eyes with it.:)
His dog works well to get him laughing as well. Buddy is apparently hilarious.
We have Bear's 9 month doctor's appointment set for the first week in April. No shots at that one! I don't think I'll get to go to that appointment as things have changed with work so I'm pretty sure I'll have to work that afternoon. Oh well, at least he isn't getting shots. He and Tom will have to handle that dr. appointment on their own. Knowing them they'll have fun with it. I'm going to guess that Bear will be about 30 inches long, and around 21 pounds. We'll have to wait and see for the official measurements. He seems pretty big to me for an 8 month old, but I don't know very many.
I'm off to find out if the coffee is still on. The sun coming in the window is blinding me too. Makes it difficult to see the screen.

Back to work...
It is back to work tomorrow for Bear and I. My teeth shouldn't be a problem. I actually hurt a lot less now that they are out. Yay! It is all over with. Of course I have to tell work that I've been on pain killers off and on through-out the weekend. The joys of being in a job where you can get random drug tests. They test for all sorts of things, so even though its perfectly legal for me to take the prescribed medications on the weekend, I can't take them while working (actually I might be able to on some of them) and I have to tell them about them. Its either that or have to try to explain why they didn't know I had opiates in my system if I have to go in for a random. Gotta love it.
So Tom and I have just passed our one year anniversary of quitting smoking. Thank you Bear. It is because of him that we did. We both miss smoking, but we don't miss being smokers. I don't miss the amount of money spent either. That and neither of us want our kids raised around the smoke. I know I never liked the smell of the smoke I grew up around and I don't want Bear to have to deal with that.
We've had quite the last year or so when we stop to think about it. We had Bear, bought a house, and Tom graduated college. All on top of the quitting smoking. Actually we did all of that within about 3-4 months of each other. I'm not quite sure how. I do know that even though we got some pretty wonderful things out of the last year I don't care to repeat it.
I'll leave you with a photo of Bear today. He is growing so fast. He's saying dadada. He has also been saying what kinda passes for a Hi Dad. Its either that or he's saying dog. We are thinking it is more likely dog. He gets such a kick out of dogs and other animals. He thinks the Pomeranians next door are hilarious. Granted they are kinda funny, but he cracks up every time he sees them. He also got a real kick out of meeting the hangar cat, Smokey, last week. Besides that, he's working on pulling himself up onto things. He's finally learning to have some patience when it comes to being on his tummy. He knows how to roll over and he's finally realizing that if he just takes a minute to think about what he needs to do he can get off his tummy.

Quick note
I do have some photos of a kid getting good at feeding himself. Well, he's hamming it up for the camera more than actually eating. I just haven't gotten them off the camera yet. Bear must be growing and/or getting teeth. He's decided to wake up about 10 p.m. when he hasn't done that in months. He's been hungry too. Don't know if it is teeth waking him and then he realizes he's hungry or if it is the hunger pains waking him.
Not that I can blame him on the teeth. I get to finally get my wisdom teeth out tomorrow. This means I will be slow getting pictures on here. That is if things go like I think. Otherwise I'll need something to do to take my mind off my mouth. I'll go in at noon tomorrow and get put under and take all of them at once. No way is any dentist coming at me while I'm awake! Luckily Tom has the day off so he can babysit both Bear and I.:)
I'd better get to bed so we can get a couple things done in the morning before I get loopy.

Quick update
Hmmmm... The boys are home and training week at work is done. Thank goodness! Now it is back to our somewhat normal schedule. Bear is growing again. He had seemed to plateau there for awhile. Clothes that have fit for a month or two now are starting to get tight. I weighed him at the post office yesterday. (It is a perfect scale for Bear to sit on.) Just over 21 pounds. My goodness! No wonder my arms are sore after packing him around all day.
Well, I'll leave you with a photo of Bear and his friend Maddie. She's an older woman. She's 3.:)
