Almost Halloween...
This weekend is Halloween. We still really don't know what Bear is going to be. Either a lion or a monkey. He has both costumes. I guess we'll wait and see which he wants to wear on Sunday. We have friends coming over to spend the weekend. We'll go play in a pumpkin patch, carve pumpkins, and have a slumber party. Should be lots of fun.
We've been very busy with school, work, and colds. One big downfall of a kid in daycare is the creeping crud they bring home. It is amazing how many versions of the common cold there are.
The daycare does help with things like counting. Bear counts to 3 and knows lots of colors. One of these days we'll get going on the alphabet. Part of the reason we haven't is Tom and I haven't gotten the gumption up.
Yesterday we had the last of the monthly doctor appointments. Now I'll go every two weeks. This means I'm lots closer to having Bear's little sister. Because of sizes, previous history, etc I'll be a c-section unless I go into labor super early. I was told that if I were to go into labor at 34 weeks (5-6 weeks early) my doctor would let me try for a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section). Otherwise it will be the c-section. Looks like she won't let me go the full 40 weeks either. Sounds more like about the 39th week, which will put things about the 1st week of January. I guess we'll see how things go in the next couple of months.
One last note. Bear is now almost 37 inches tall. The way he is growing he'll be my height by the time he is 10. I'm 63 inches. Only about 2 feet to go.
Ok. Time to chase a Bear monster down...

Thank you
Those of you that read this, thank you. If nothing else I find it entertaining to look on my little widget thing that tells me where a reader is and it says some place like Brazil, Colombia, India, or Missouri. I love seeing all the different places that show up. I like to imagine the places you all come from. Funny to think that you could be doing the same with me.
Hopefully I don't make too many awful typos/spelling errors. I tend to not proof this very well. I find if I spend too much time editing that's all I get done and no actual posts go up.
Off to get my boys to eat something before they are totally done for the evening...

Time flies
I can't believe October is almost over. I swear it was just starting to be spring and now it is almost Halloween and then it is rushing toward Thanksgiving and Christmas. Luckily no travel this year. Somehow a toddler, dog, snowy roads, and a pregnant lady don't sound like a good combo. Besides, there is something to be said for spending holidays in your own home. I'm looking forward to decorating for the holidays too.
Bear updates:
He has started to use the potty! Not every time, but a few times. There might be a light at the end of the tunnel for the diapers. At least with Bear. I know his sister will be in diapers for a long time but it is nice to know that it will end.
Bear's language is exploding. Now he asks what lots of things are. There is so much more expression in what he says now. Things can be so exciting. It is fun to see him get excited about things. I can't wait to see what he thinks of Halloween this year. He might really be able to say trick-or-treat.
I hear someone is up. I guess I'd better get some lunch ready.

Kids and other random thoughts
Poor Bear. He has had a cold (that's what comes from starting daycare again) that has turned into an ear infection, cough, and possibly pink eye. He's handling it well. He really isn't a grumpy sick kid. He apparently is just goopy. Still wants to run around like a crazy man, chase dogs, play in the dirt, eat zucchini from the garden, help with dishes and laundry, and watch Kipper and Dirty Jobs. He knows he can get Dad to let him watch t.v. if he asks to watch Dirty Jobs.:)
At any rate he stayed home from "school" and I stayed home from work today so he could go to the doctor. Doc says the "green monster" got him and now he's on antibiotics to kick the dang thing.
Bear's sister seems to be doing well. Today it has been what feel like full body flips in there. Otherwise it is just small kicks and punches. She isn't as wiggly as Bear, but still plenty active.
We are starting the very not fun process of figuring out finances and time schedules for having this kid. By far the worst of the process of having a second kid is figuring it all out. Of course it will work out in the end, but it is one of those things that is difficult to get to. Such as life.
