About Me

My photo
I used to be aircraft mechanic and now I'm a homemaker. I love to garden, play with my kids, hang out with my husband, bake bread (some is good some isn't), travel, and eat.

Finally some photos!

I realized I've been really bad about taking pictures. We have been super busy what with harvesting, canning, school starting, work, doctor appointments, and all sorts of things. At any rate I finally got a few last weekend while my folks were here to can salsa. Grandpa gave Bear a ride in his wagon. Dad rigged up a way to pull the wagon from his chair. Although I couldn't catch the smiles, Bear had a blast.

Bear is a big help around the house. He loves to help do dishes. He pulled his stool over while Grammy was doing some canning dishes and "helped" her. He really just gets a cup or spoon to play with the bubbles. This makes him feel like he's helping out though. He apparently tries to help at daycare too. Whenever the gals are cleaning up Bear goes over and says, "I help." Apparently none of the other kids want to help.
Also at daycare Bear now has a "girlfriend." There is a little girl that he really likes. We ask him about his friends and he tells us that he likes Avery. Most of the other kids get no mention. Tom was telling me that Bear did about 10 minutes in the car after daycare one day about liking Avery.
That is about all the updates here. Bear is talking up a storm. It is so nice to have him tell me what is going on instead of guessing. Amelia (what we think we are going to name Bear's sister), is growing like crazy if my belly is any indication. She is very wiggly like Bear was. I can't wait to meet her and see what this next little person is like.

A promise...

...of photos to come. One of these days I will get some pictures uploaded. We've been pretty busy lately. Tom is now teaching, going to school, and working weekends. I'm still working my 40 hour weeks and trying to can and help Tom around the house. Meanwhile Bear is now in daycare 4 days a week. He seems to enjoy that.

We are slowly getting the house ready for Fall and Winter. It isn't where we'd like it to be, but we are chipping away at projects.

Last, but not least, we are trying to figure out everything for the second kiddo to come along. I think we are basically ready, but we won't know that until she gets here. She is growing well if my belly is any indication. I went from not showing to seeming to "pop" overnight. I don't remember it being that sudden with Bear.

Hmmmm...off to stir the apple butter and tomato sauce before Bear decides he really is awake.

News!

Well, we had our ultrasound yesterday. A girl! Everything looks good. She's a bit bigger than "normal" but still looks good. They didn't see anything to be worried about at any rate.

This means we are half way done. Whew! I'm for sure starting to look more pregnant. I actually had to buy a couple pairs of maternity pants. I am apparently bigger than I was last time. Actually I know I am. I was quite small when I got pregnant the first go around. Not so this round. It does mean I have to buy new clothes. I'm not sure how happy I am about this. Oddly enough most stores have tiny or no maternity sections and the one maternity store kinda weirds me out. I might have to try a consignment shop in town. Hopefully it is less weird than the store in the mall.

I guess what it boils down to is that I'm just not all that excited about shopping for me. Now for a baby girl... That will be fun. There are so many cute clothes and all for girls. Even though I'm mostly a tom-boy I still like some girly things. I'm also excited about the winter clothes. I love winter clothes anyway. Soft fuzzy fabrics that make you feel like curling up next to a fire. Mmm... Good thing it is fall and winter is on its way. I love the change of seasons.

Speaking of being fall, I'd better get going on some of my Fall to-do list. Lots to do to get ready for winter. I'm much better at Fall cleaning than Spring cleaning.
