About Me

My photo
I used to be aircraft mechanic and now I'm a homemaker. I love to garden, play with my kids, hang out with my husband, bake bread (some is good some isn't), travel, and eat.

morning

So we've followed our basic morning routine... Up at about 6 a.m., back down at around 8:30. Bear should be getting up here in a bit. He's wiggled a bit but hasn't actually gotten up. With him getting up so early I get to watch the sun rise. My computer sits at our East window so I watched a beautiful sunrise over the Missions this morning. What a great place to live! I can't believe they actually let us live here.

In thinking about where we live, we've been talking about grad school... We don't want to move anytime soon and we really like MT. Problem is that the schools that have the wanted programs are in ID and CA. Ugh. I hate moving states. There is so much to change over when one moves from one state to another. At least we could just live there during the school year. Although the problem with that is that neither of us wants to be a landlord and rent our house out. We are in no hurry to make any decisions but it's something we are talking about.

There is also an opportunity for a teaching position with an international school. A teaching certificate would need to be obtained though. This entails almost as much school as a masters degree though. Seems a bit silly but that's how it works. The international school would be great though. We could live all over the world. Bear would learn all about other cultures and more than likely learn several languages. That would be a wonderful start to a life. At least in my opinion. I can't help but want a more open minded atmosphere for my son than what I grew up with.

I keep hearing more noise from Bear's room so I'd better get moving. We are going to pick some more Italian Prunes off the trees in our yard so we can make more jam, syrup, and maybe some fruit leather. We have 5 trees loaded with fruit.

One more quick one

Awhile back a friend of ours threw a lunch party for those of us with new babies that are connected to Neptune. Myself, and two other gals whose husbands/boyfriends work with me. The result of which came this picture. Bear is the middle kid in both size and age. We thought is was pretty cute to have small, medium, and large. Ginny is only 5 days older than Bear but about half the weight. Levi is about 4 months in this picture, which if I remember correctly puts him at 3 months older than Bear. The other kid looking over them is Ginny's older brother.

Finally an update

So I'm finally getting around to updating this. Bear is keeping us busy during the day. With me being back at work I'm enjoying the other days I get to be at home with him. As Tom said with Neptune loosing the airplane we've been travelling a lot.

Above is Bear on the bus. Busses are nice since the car seat has room and we can travel in comfort. Especially when there are only at most 15 people on board. Evidence below.

Here is our fourth or fifth plane ride. Bear and I went to my parent's house for two days last weekend. We had lots of fun non-revving. On our way out of Jackson, WY we got booted from our first flight trying to come home. They were overweight because of the weather and had to pull bags and the stand-by (Bear and I). They all felt bad since I had Bear with me, but I didn't mind. Luckily my parents had waited to make sure I got on the flight so they hung out with us in the airport for about 4 hours until my next flight. The rest of the adventure went smoothly. Apparently getting up at 4:30 in the morning at Grammy's house is a suprise from the look on his face.
At least photos at that time of day are suprising. I do believe that is the basic new from Montana. We still haven't had our first freeze so we have beautiful fall weather that isn't too cold. Perfect for going outside to play and pick Italian Prunes. Dad should be home from work soon so we'd better get some lunch going...

From the boys

From Tom: Well it has been a hectic week or so. Katrina went back to work just when tragedy struck at Neptune when they lost one of their tankers and the three men onboard. So it has been a week of tears and funerals as well as first experiences for Barrett. We found out how good a traveler he is on two ten hour bus rides and his first airplane trip as we travelled around the West to pay our respects to Katrina's lost comrades. On a lighter note, with Kat being back at work, Barrett and I got our first day together on our own. We have been having a good time sitting on the couch being guys, wandering the town checking out girls, and watching dumb movies (blame my dad for those legacies). We also listen to lots of music and dance (about as well as tall gawky white guys can dance). Barrett also got his first shots yesterday. He did great: screamed his fool head off but held still for the poor nurse. Just an update for everyone... he is now eight weeks old, 13 lbs 5 oz (75th percentile), and 24 in. long (90th percentile... long baby!), and in the words of the doctor, he is a good strong healthy boy. That's all for now, the pictures above are just us boys goofing off.
