Ugh. Time change and clouds. Now it is drive to and from work in the dark. Makes the days seem very short. And now that I have a day off it is grey. It is maybe supposed to snow, but hasn't been able to muster that. Just grey and cold. I love Fall, but don't love the in between weather. Oh well.
I can't believe Halloween is over, Thanksgiving is just around the corner with Christmas on its heels. And then it will be New Year's, Tom's birthday, and baby will be here. Holy cow! I am not ready for all of this. I'm excited for it all, but not ready.
I forgot how much I can't do being this pregnant. I get tired so much faster and I can't reach things that I normally never think twice about. Grrrr... I wonder what it would take to be able to have someone else clean my house etc.
Mmmmm...Just thought about Thanksgiving dinner. I can't wait. It is one of my favorite meals to eat and cook. I don't really like to cook other meals, but I love to make the Thanksgiving one. I'm not sure why. Maybe because it is fairly straight forward and there really isn't any menu planning. It is kind of a given. Turkey, potatoes, gravy, dinner rolls, and a couple sides (which-ever are your family favorites). That's it. Pretty set in stone. Sure you can mix it up here and there with a ham or something, but the menu is pretty much the same year after year. I like that. No planning. Throw a turkey in first thing in the a.m., make stuffing, make bread, cook potatoes, make the sweet potato casserole, any other sides or veggies get made, and then you eat. There is family to be with and the house smells good.
I'm making myself hungry. I guess I'll have to go clean up the kitchen and make some bread. I suppose I should do the laundry too. Hmmmm... Maybe I'll make dilly bread this weekend. The weather is certainly conducive to baking. It'll help warm up the house.
